Soursop is a highly sought-after fruit, it is not only delicious, but it has many healing properties. Our soursop usually comes from the Island of Grenada and is certified organic. Scientifically, this fruit is known as Annona muricata and is thought to be native to tropical regions of the Americas and the Caribbean. The taste is unique to itself but tingles the senses and can quickly become a favorite for many! The flesh of the fruit is very juicy and fibrous. The black seeds are not to be eaten!
Soursop have a great source of fiber to regulate the digestive tract, vitamin C to strengthen the immune system, and iron to develop the protein hemoglobin for oxygen transport through the bloodstream. The fruits also provide calcium and phosphorus to build strong bones and teeth, potassium to balance fluid levels within the body, and other nutrients, including magnesium, B vitamins, zinc, and copper. Beyond vitamins and minerals, Soursop fruits contain antioxidants to protect the body against the damage inflicted by free radicals, helping to reduce inflammation. Soursop fruits are also used in natural medicines worldwide as a topical and internal remedy for inflammation, digestive issues, and wounds.
Ripening Guidelines :
Soursop is shipped unripe, however may arrive ripe upon delivery. When ripe, the fruit is soft to the touch, your finger print should indent the fruit. To consume, simply cut the fruit in half and scoop out the white, fibrous flesh with a fork or spoon. The seeds and peel of the fruit may be discarded as they are inedible.
